This Marina 20 Gallon Fish Tank is not like the new fancy betta tanks (or rather, “bowls”) coming out these days, however it is a favorite among the more experienced aquarists. Although it comes in a 5-gallon and 10-gallon format, which are definitely acceptable for betta fish, if you are in it for the long haul, I recommend this 20-gallon aquarium versus the smaller ones. For one, the maintenance is fairly easy since it comes with a filter that takes care of a large portion of the mess that you have to clean up, but also because your bettas will have much more room to swim around and a possibility of more hiding places as long as you decorate it properly.
What Does It Come With?
This 20 gallon aquarium comes with everything you need to get started in the world of betta fish (or any other fish for that matter):
- Glass aquarium that hold up to 20 gallons of water
- Beautiful LED lighting that integrates in the hood
- Fish food (although I would recommend getting other food for your betta)
- Water conditioner
- Fish net (soft enough for your betta)
- Stick-on thermometer
- Filter and accessories
- Aquarium Care Guide in case you are new to aquariums
Marina Style 20 Gallon Fish Tank – Review
One of the best features of this 20 gallon fish tank is the filter that comes with it. Powerful enough to keep your aquarium cleaner for longer periods (which ends up being less maintenance for you), but it is also gentle enough for your bettas. It comes with a lot of the equipment you need to start: filter, canopy, lighting, fish food, thermometer, etc. The hood was designed in such a way that it makes cleaning the tank and feeding your betta a breeze, and it allows for other accessories to easily be added (i.e.: heater, air tubing, etc.) Another bonus of the 20-gallon version is the added room you will get and the opportunity to have several bettas instead of just one or two (as long as they are all female).
The only thing I need to point at if you decide to go with a 20-gallon tank for housing a betta fish, is that you will need to buy more decorations. Bettas need a lot of “alone time” and love to have places to hide. When/if you buy a 20-gallon tank, make sure you buy enough decorations to them that place to hide. The only major complaint I have with this kit is that it does not come with a heater. It’s crucial for bettas to have a consistent and warm habitat to stay healthy. Not a huge deal because heaters aren’t that expensive, but I thought I should let you know anyways. Also, the lighting could be a bit better.

I couldn’t find a good video that showcased this fish tank with betta fish, however I did find one person who posted a video of his aquarium with goldfish:
