Betta fish (aka Siamese fighting fish, Japanese fighting fish, betta splendens) are one of the most popular choices when it comes to keeping freshwater fish at home. Not only are they fairly easy to take care of, they are absolutely stunning. The great thing about bettas is that there are so many different types to choose from. Halfmoon, Plakat, Rosetail, Delta and SuperDelta, and a dozen more. The only problem is that it is sometimes hard to identify the different types.
